LAHORE: Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, expressed worry on Thursday about her brother’s health in prison. She said there are fears he might have been poisoned.
While speaking to reporters outside a Lahore court, she claimed that Imran Khan is being kept alone in a way that no other political leader has ever experienced.
She said that neither her family nor the PTI founder had met with anyone to discuss current politics.
Aleema added that if supporting her brother is seen as interfering with PTI, her family will keep doing it anyway.
She criticized the party’s leaders, saying they used Imran Khan’s name to get votes but didn’t actually help the party.
She mentioned recent political meetings and hoped things might get better. However, she doubted the value of talking to a prime minister who she claims cannot even answer questions without asking for permission first.
Aleema said PTI leader Sohail Afridi declared that if Parliament meets together, their party will protest outside.
She said Afridi is not having any trouble. She also believes that if Pakistan’s 250 million people fight for their rights, the country’s problems will be solved.
Previously, the court granted temporary bail until July 9 to Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Azam Swati, and other PTI leaders involved in the May 9 riot cases.
The court told both the prosecution and the defense to present their arguments at the next hearing.
These cases involve arson, vandalism, and attacks, such as the burning of the PML-N office and violence near Jinnah House, along with other May 9-related crimes reported at various police stations.
