Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, is in the hospital and is in serious but stable condition, according to his spokesperson on Sunday.

Spokesperson Ted Goodman didn’t quickly share more information on Giuliani’s health or how long he’s been in the hospital.

“Mayor Giuliani is strong and has always faced challenges with strength. He’s using that same strength now,” Goodman said. “Please pray for America’s Mayor, Rudy Giuliani.”

Giuliani, 81, was praised for how he handled the September 11, 2001, al Qaeda attack in New York City, which led to him being called “America’s Mayor.”

Giuliani, a lawyer for President Trump, tried to change the 2020 election results but failed. This led to criminal charges against him in two states and a lawsuit from election workers. Giuliani says he did nothing wrong in the criminal cases.

Trump said on social media that Giuliani was the “Best Mayor in New York City’s History” and that Democrats treated him unfairly.

Giuliani was in the hospital last year after a car accident in New Hampshire.
