ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed 29 terrorists on Sunday during special missions called ‘Operation Ghazb Lil Haq.’ These operations followed recent attacks in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and a Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated on X that the strikes targeted hiding spots used by the outlawed groups ‘Jamaat ul Ahrar’ and ‘Fitna al Khwarij’ near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. These groups were responsible for Saturday’s attack in Karachi.

Tarar stated that on Sunday, security forces carried out an intelligence-led mission in the Bajaur district. This operation killed a top Khwarji leader, Khan Farosh (also known as Zabal), and three terrorists from the group Jamaat ul Ahrar, while others were injured.

He added that as part of ‘Operation Ghazb Lil Haq,’ Pakistan also used precise strikes to hit terrorist camps and hideouts belonging to Jamaat ul Ahrar and Fitna al Khwarij near the border during the night of June 28-29.

The minister said precision strikes destroyed three targets in Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar, killing 25 militants and destroying large amounts of weapons and ammo.

He stated that while Pakistan works for regional peace, protecting its citizens is the top priority and will not be compromised.

He concluded that Pakistan will continue its ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ plan to completely remove foreign-backed terrorism from the country.

These strikes happened shortly after the military (ISPR) promised to attack those responsible for the raid on the Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi to honor their fallen soldiers.

After the attack, the military’s media wing (ISPR) stated they will continue their ‘Azm e Istehkam’ campaign to wipe out foreign-backed terrorism from the country.

They reported that a group called Jamaat ul Ahrar attacked a Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area late Saturday night.

After an explosion at the camp’s main gate, attackers tried to break in but were stopped by alert Rangers. The Rangers killed three terrorists and captured one injured Afghan attacker.

During the fight, three Rangers were killed and four others were injured. Security teams are still searching the area to clear out any remaining terrorists.

The ISPR reported that Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir offered deep sympathy to the families of the soldiers who died. He stated that their sacrifice strengthens the country’s determination to protect the nation no matter what.

Additionally, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the terrorist attack and honored the security officers who died in the line of duty.

In separate messages, both leaders praised the Rangers for stopping the attack. President Zardari stated that the country will always remember the sacrifices made by brave soldiers fighting terrorism.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also commended the security forces for preventing the cowardly attack. He said the Rangers showed great courage and professionalism by blocking the terrorists’ plans.

The Prime Minister stated that the sacrifices of those killed would not be wasted, promising to use all strength to end all terrorism. He added that the group ‘Fitna al-Hindustan’ and its supporters will fail in their evil plans.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the attack and honored the three Rangers who died bravely fighting the attackers.

Naqvi arrived in Karachi on Sunday. He attended the funeral for the Rangers officers who were killed and visited the site of the terrorist attack. Naqvi stated that security forces will hunt down all terrorists, no matter where they hide, and bring them to justice.
