Iran sends letter to UN accusing US of violating signed agreement
Iran claims the US broke a signed deal in a letter to the United Nations.

Iran wrote a letter to the UN, saying the US broke the Islamabad Agreement meant to stop the war and did bad things in war.

Iran’s UN ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani, said in the letter, reported by Iran’s news agency IRNA, that right after the agreement was signed and even now, the US did not keep its promises and instead worked to destroy the agreement from the start.

The letter claimed violations like new US attacks on Iran, canceling permits for Iran to sell oil, creating a new shipping path near the Strait of Hormuz, and ongoing US backing for Israel’s war in Lebanon.

“These planned, careful, and ongoing actions are a serious danger to world peace and safety and show that the US does not care about its legal duties to other countries,” he said.

Iravani said Iran had told the mediators about each violation, but the US “kept making its illegal actions worse.”

He said the war against Iran that started on February 28 was made up of ‘unprovoked aggressive acts’ by the US and Israel, breaking the UN rules. He said these acts ‘included many war crimes and crimes against humanity.’

He asked the Security Council to take ‘quick, strong, and firm actions’ to force Washington to stop its ‘current illegal actions’ against Iran.

Lately, the US and Iran have been fighting more over the Strait of Hormuz. They attack each other even after signing a peace deal arranged by Pakistan to stop their fight and make lasting peace.
