ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for China for four days to improve the relationship and economy between the two countries.
The Prime Minister has departed for Hangzhou as the first stop of his trip. He is traveling with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, according to a post by the Pakistan government on X.
This visit is very important because Pakistan and China are celebrating 75 years of friendship. It’s a chance to show how strong their partnership is and work towards a future where they are even closer.
While in Hangzhou, the premier will meet with Zhejiang’s top official and lead a Pakistan-China business conference focusing on IT, telecom, energy storage, and agriculture investments.
The prime minister will watch companies from both countries sign agreements and memorandums of understanding.
Officials say PM Shehbaz will likely meet with heads of major Chinese companies and visit Alibaba Group’s main office to attend a cooperation agreement signing.
Next, the Prime Minister will go to Beijing to meet with China’s President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.
Both countries will examine their collaboration in politics, economics, and strategic areas, especially the strong growth of CPEC, commerce, investments, industrial partnerships, modern farming, IT, science, tech, and cultural exchange.
The Foreign Office added that the visit is expected to build stronger political trust, improve strategic coordination, increase practical cooperation, and strengthen the long-term friendship between Pakistan and China.
