At least 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists were also killed in intelligence-based operation, says ISPR
The military reports that 11 soldiers died in a security operation in Orakzai, KP. They also say 19 terrorists backed by India were killed. Security forces are committed to ending terrorism.
RAWALPINDI: The army’s media branch announced on Wednesday that in Orakzai district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two army officers and nine soldiers died as heroes during an operation based on intelligence against terrorists supported by India.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that on the night of October 7-8, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Orakzai district because terrorists from the Indian-backed group, Fitna al Khwarij, were reported to be there.
During the operation, the military’s media wing stated that 19 terrorists were killed by the troops. Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq, 39, and Major Tayyab Rahat, 33, both from Rawalpindi, bravely led their soldiers and died as heroes alongside nine other soldiers, the military’s media wing added.
The nine soldiers who died were: Naib Subedar Azam Gul (38 years old, from Khyber), Naik Adil Hussain (35 years old, from Kurram), Naik Gul Ameer (34 years old, from Tank), Lance Naik Sher Khan (31 years old, from Mardan), Lance Naik Talish Faraz (32 years old, from Manshera), Lance Naik Irshad Hussain (32 years old, from Kurram), Sepoy Tufail Khan (28 years old, from Malakand), Sepoy Aqib Ali (23 years old, from Swabi), and Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (24 years old, from Tank),
The military is clearing out any remaining fighters in the area. They are determined to stop terrorism supported by India in the country. These events only make the country stronger.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces on Wednesday for killing 19 terrorists in Orakzai district who were supported by India and belonged to the Fitna-al-Khawarij group. He also mourned the loss of Lt. Col.
Junaid Arif, Major Tayyab Rahat, and other soldiers who died in the operation. The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that their sacrifices would not be in vain and the country would thwart nefarious designs of terrorists. He reiterated the government’s determination to rid the country of terrorism.
This operation occurred after security forces killed 14 terrorists in Balochistan’s Khuzdar area who were linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan. According to security sources, that operation resulted in the killing of at least 14 terrorists and injury of 20 others
. Pakistan has seen a significant increase in violence, with a 46% rise in the third quarter of 2025, according to the CRSS. There were at least 901 deaths and 599 injuries in 329 violent incidents, including terror attacks and counter-terror operations
. The CRSS report notes that this year has been almost as deadly as the entirety of 2024

The report compared the third quarter’s numbers to the second quarter (616 deaths). It showed that deaths rose the most in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), up 64% (from 390 to 638 deaths), and Balochistan, up 21% (from 190 to 230 deaths).
