Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf broke the ICC’s code of conduct during the Asia Cup Super Four match against India on September 21. He was fined 30% of his match fee by the ICC referee, Richie Richardson. Pakistani batsman Sahibzada Farhan received a warning instead of a fine.

During the heated game in Dubai, Rauf responded to Indian fans by gesturing 6-0 with his hands and imitating the downing of planes, possibly referring to the India-Pakistan conflict this year. Farhan celebrated his fifty by pretending to shoot a gun.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was also fined 30% for comments about the military conflict made after their group game against Pakistan on September 14. India appealed the decision. The PCB complained about Yadav, while the BCCI complained about Rauf and Farhan.

All three players denied the charges, requiring hearings with Richardson. Tensions were high during India and Pakistan’s group game on September 14, with India refusing to shake hands.

In the Super Four match, there were clashes between Pakistani bowlers and Indian batsmen. Abhishek Sharma accused Pakistan of unprovoked aggression. The two teams will play again in the Asia Cup final in Dubai on Sunday.
