Cummins and Head turned down $10 million offers from IPL teams to prioritize playing for their country: report.

The offer tries to attract the pair to a worldwide T20 league spanning India, UAE, USA, and the Caribbean.

Australian captain Pat Cummins and batsman Travis Head are said to have refused big money offers from an Indian Premier League team owner. The offers were reportedly worth millions and aimed to get them to leave playing for Australia and instead play in T20 leagues around the world full-time.

Each player was offered about $10 million to join a global T20 network with teams in India, the UAE, the USA, and the Caribbean, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Franchise cricket is getting really popular, so IPL team owners are buying stakes in other leagues like SA20, ILT20, Major League Cricket (MLC), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and The Hundred

. Now, players can get contracts worth millions, often more than they make playing for their countries. Top Australian cricketers with Cricket Australia (CA) earn around $1.5 million AUD a year. Pat Cummins, the captain, makes about $3 million AUD, plus another $3.7 million from his IPL deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Travis Head, who also plays for that team, earns about $1.2 million.

Even though they could make a lot more money in franchise cricket, Cummins and Head still want to play for Australia.

Head said he doesn’t want to quit international cricket despite the money he could make. He played in the Major League Cricket (MLC) to see what franchise cricket is like.

He wanted to know what it’s like to play in tournaments like the IPL, World Cup, and MLC back-to-back. He said it was a chance to experience four months of constant franchise cricket and learn how different systems work. Head said he wanted to see what it would be like to play franchise cricket. He had the IPL, then the World Cup, then MLC,so he wanted to see what it was like to play four months of franchise cricket.

He wants to have all options available, experience new things and understand how things work.

He also said that many players are making decisions about their careers, and he wanted to understand what it was like. He wanted to see if he could do it, if he liked it, and if he was good at it.

He hadn’t played much T20 cricket, so it was a way to get back into it. The 31-year-old said that even though the experience was valuable, he still wants to play for his country.

He said it was a perfect time for him to do that, but now he’s focused on playing for Australia and doesn’t see himself playing in any other leagues for now.
