British retirees can soon visit three of King Charles III’s homes for only £1 ($2 AUD), Buckingham Palace said.
The Royal Collection Trust (RCT) will open Windsor Castle, Holyroodhouse Palace, and the Royal Mews from November 2025 to January 2026
. Older people getting certain benefits, like Pension Credit and Universal Credit, can enter at this low price.
Regular tickets to visit Windsor Castle can cost as much as £35 (or $70 AUD), but this new plan is designed to help more people visit royal places. A representative from the Royal Collection Trust told GB News, “We want lots of people to be able to see the Royal Collection.”
Visitors will also get to enjoy the palaces’ famous Christmas decorations, like a huge 20-foot tall Christmas tree in St.
George’s Hall at Windsor Castle, decorated with many lights and gold decorations.
Also, Prince William and Princess Kate are reportedly moving their family from Adelaide Cottage to a bigger house called Forest Lodge in Windsor Home Park. Staff said the house offers “space, privacy, and a chance to live in a more eco-friendly way.”
