Indian cricketers are facing criticism after posting pictures online with what looks like a ‘fake trophy’. This happened just hours after the team, known as the Men in Blue, turned down the official Asia Cup 2025 trophy.
Many people are making fun of the players, asking why they would take photos with a copy instead of the real award, which makes others wonder what they were actually celebrating.
Indian cricket captain Suryakumar Yadav, along with batsmen like Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma, posted pictures online where they were pretending to hold a trophy by adding it to the images using editing.
Fans made fun of the pictures, wondering why there was a fake trophy when the Indian team didn’t take the real one from ACC Chief Mohsin Naqvi. One person said, “Another fake trophy… like the fake ‘Op Sindoor’ success. Looks good outside, but empty inside.”
