Saim Ayub played well all around, and Mohammad Nawaz bowled strongly, helping Pakistan win by 14 runs against West Indies in the first T20I match at Central Broward Regional Park in Florida on Friday.

The West Indies tried to chase a tough score of 179 but ended up at 164-7, despite a good start from their opening batsmen.

Saim Ayub played very well, and with strong bowling from Mohammad Nawaz, Pakistan won by 14 runs against the West Indies in their first T20I match at Central Broward Regional Park in Florida on Friday.

Sufiyan Muqeem took a wicket by clean bowling Romario Shepherd, who scored 12 runs off 5 balls, making it seven wickets for the team.

Jason Holder tried hard to keep West Indies in the game with a quick 30* off just 12 balls, and Shamar Joseph contributed 21 runs. However, the team couldn’t keep up with the scoring rate and lost, marking their sixth straight T20I defeat after losing 5-0 to Australia. For Pakistan, Nawaz was impressive with 3 wickets for 23 runs in four overs, while Saim took 2 wickets for 15 runs. Afridi and Muqeem each took a wicket.

Earlier, Pakistan started batting and had a decent opening. Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub scored 26 runs before Farhan was out for 14 runs off 12 balls against Shamar Joseph in his first over. Saim played steadily and got help from Fakhar Zaman, who was aggressive from the start.

They added 55 runs for the second wicket, making the score 70-1 at the halfway point. Saim reached his fourth T20I half-century with good batting and helped his team cross 100 runs. He scored 57 runs off 38 balls with five fours and two sixes before being out by Jason Holder in the 12th over, ending an 81-run partnership.

 

After one more run, Fakhar scored 28 runs off 24 balls before getting out to Shamar Joseph, who took 3 wickets for 35 runs.

Hassan Nawaz kept the score moving with 24 runs off 18 balls, hitting one four and two sixes, before getting out to Akeal Hosein.

Mohammad Nawaz scored 8 runs off 6 balls before Romario Shepherd got him out. Captain Salman Ali Agha and Faheem Ashraf added important runs at the end.

Faheem scored 15 runs, and Agha stayed not out with 11 runs.

Wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris finished things off by hitting the last ball for six, bringing Pakistan’s total to 178-7. With this victory, Pakistan leads the three-match series 1-0, with the next game on Sunday.
